Me, Imogen and Naomi had problems deciding which Cruella de Vil edit to use and imogen suggested trying out using the photo we liked but photoshopping a background in. So I've done this. What do you all think, do you prefer this one or think we should stick to one of the originals. Alicia

Which photograph do people prefer for Cruella's final image? Me, imogen and naomi are unsure which one we like the best. We want to decide by tonight so I can print out the hand outs for the presentation :)

I was just going through the ones of Cruella in the studio and thought id give a go at editing one of them, I actually prefer this one to the one i put originally, but will show you guys tomorrow  and see what you think.

A cropped version of Klimt style

What do people think so they prefer the cropped or not? Louise first suggested cropping it because the projector didnt go all the way to the bottom, so I imposed the background on and then showed her and she said she quite liked it how it was. But I thought I would crop and see what we thought. Louise mentioned alot of empty space on one side I did it like that originally because thats how the painting is but maybe it does look better being more central.

Here's an edit I've done for Cruella, I read what Imogen posted about changing the hair to black and white but keeping the red lipstick so thats what i tried to do, I also changed the coat to black and white as I think it makes it look more dalmatian like :)

This is a slightly different edit of the same photograph, I've added abit more blusher and eyeshadow and upped the shadow and highlights.

Here's two edits I've done for Jessica Rabbit, I think I like the top one the best, I like how it sort of makes a love heart and is quite glamorous.

Sunddas and Natalie are in lectures and unable to come, Natalie says she is going to try and come, Kaylie and Naomi aren't able to come. Alicia bought the outift for Jessica Rabbit yesterday and we are just doing the models hair now.

Imogen .. Editing the photos of cruella deville...

Right so I have been doing some research into cruella and it seams that most images of her have the main key features of black and white hair with red lips... So I think when editing we really need to stick to this otherwise we will risk ruining the recreation. We can turn my hair black and white instead of blonde and white on photoshop. We could also try and put the photo into black and white but just leave her lips red. Also we could take the cartoon approach to it and also use a poster effect on photoshop? After all she is a cartoon character? Let me know what you all think and I will have a bash at it later. Also we are meeting up tommorow so please try and make it for the final shoot! Xxxx

Hey everyone I think The Cleopatra edit is definatley a final image and also once we crop the klimt one itll be fine! Also alicia could you post the b&w one of cruella up one here?
We really need to get a wiggle on with our final shoot. Im free for a few hours on friday and we need it done by then i think. Also may be able to come in tommorow for an hour or so. xx

Lady Gagas meat dress id the most iconic outfit from the last few years. Our plan is to have our model in a nude rest and pin bacon to it once on the model, with a bacon head band. We want the photo to be from the torso up, bright red lipstick on and a drumstick in her hand, were hoping for an action shot of her tearing the drumstick with her mouth.

Meeting at eleven, Photoshoot on Monday.
We have discussed and decided that we want to do : Cleopatra, Cruella De Vil and a Klimt inspired photo.

For Cruella De Vil, Imogen is going to model with here hair back combed into a quiff with blonde hair and a black streak. We have the idea of using her dog, its not a dalmation but looks like the dog in one of the photos with Cruella, Imogen is going to shave her dog tonight so she looks like the dog and will put a picture on the blog later tonight.

Klimt image we are going to try and project a image on the background and have the model sat on a chair with a gold dress and mirrors.

Cleopatra- we want to keep the thick fringe and dark hair. Imogens boyfriend said we might be able to use his snake in the photograph. We want to have bold makeup and lots of gold bangles, big necklace and a head band.

For our fourth photo we are talking about taking inspiration from lady gaga's iconic and controversial meat dress and doing our own version.

I love old movies, and there have definitely been some iconic movie stars who set trends and still inspire fashion and beauty trends today.

She represents flapper style beautifully, which we could appropriate but in a very modern almost quite gothic twist (with her dark defined lip and brows!)

I remembered an old Illamasqua beauty campaign which i feel has Garbo influences:

I found these images that i really think could work too ,,  everybody remembers princess diana , and we could recreate this look quiet easily and cheaply, she is a big icon to alot of people. All we would need is a plain back drop and tiara. We could just go for the soft look and maybe not get someone with short hair maybe we could get someone with long hair or something like that. or maybe keep the short hair but go for a more edgy approach to it? Also i think its the blue eyes and white smile that make diana so well known in photographs xxx

I like this too alicia.. And if we wanted to recreate this there is a simular kind of pilon thing on the docks in preston, we could take the photo and then super impose the model on photoshop, it would be pretty easy to get the photo of a model with the movement in the dress too.

In terms of what kaylie said yeah id be up for chipping in about a fiver :) and also if nobody else can afford it we could always buy some red fabric and try to recreate the look our selves as it doesnt have to be exactly the same anyway? xxxx

so if we carry out this idea of jessica rabbit i have found some solutions for the costume/outfit, there all pricey but if we all chip in like a fiverish, it would be okay. i think if we got the red dress and kept that because thats the major symbol of jessica rabbit and then change the surroundings like background, props, hair etc, so that were not just copying, let me know :)

This is one of the images that we saw in the video louise showed to us .. I think in terms of recreating an image we could maybe all post an image on here that we would liek to reacreate and i think that in that way it would be easy to narrow it down to just 4 images for our finals. in relation to Kaylies post on madonna in the 80s, i have a massive sex and the city addiction and noticed that obviously because it was around the same time, madonna has a massive influence on the styles of the girls in it. might not make any difference to our research but might be worth looking at. :)
